A little of you time: My destiny
We choose these songs because they were easy to lip sync too unlike rap, techno. Also they fit into the genres that we were given. Both of these songs were good as they were slow so it would be easier to lip sync to and easy to get the lyrics. In the end we choose 07-seven days don't give up as we thought that it was the best of the potential tracks.    

Problems looking for an artist

There are some problems while looking for an artist which include copyright and genre.

Copyright
Copyright is a problem as you cannot use a song without the owner of the song's permission. if someone would use a song and haven't asked the owner to use the song they can get sued a lot of money.

Genres
Genres that we can't use include:
Rap as it would be too hard to lip sync to as it is often too fast. And often it is too explicit.
Country as it will be too hard to get the setting of the song.
Dub step as in most dub step songs there is no music so our group will not be able to lip sync.          

Laura Mulvey theories

Laura Mulvey is a British feminist film  theorist and a professor of of film and media studies at university of London.

Laura  Mulvey's theories included triple gaze and male gaze. The male gaze is a theory that the male is active and the female is passive. In the narrative the male character will often turn his gaze towards female character.

    The triple gaze is a theory that the spectator is made to identify with the male gaze as the camera films from the male perspective. The reason it is called a triple gaze as there are 3 levels of the cinematic gaze Camera, Character, and spectator.

Laura Mulvey theories can be used in music videos. I will use Laura Mulvey's theories in the song shut up and drive by Rihanna.
 
In the music video for this song the camera is fixed on Rihanna body. At various points in the music video it is made to focus on for the male gaze. Here are some examples.

Here you can see the men in the cars watching Rihanna walking away.

Laura Mulvey's theories can also apply to movies as women are also seen in movies as sexual objects. A good example of a film like this is James Bond Die another day.    

This whole scene is seen from the point of view of mans view as when the women get out of the sea she is running and it is all in slow motion. This shows that Mulvey's theories can also be applied to movies as women are seen as sexual objects.
